Recently, Lyles appeared on the latest episode of the “Nightcap” podcast with Shannon Sharpe and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. During the podcast, Sharpe asked Lyles about his opinion on Nikola Jokic, who is one of the most prominent players in the NBA. Nevertheless, Lyles’ answer left many fans shocked.

“Imma be honest, I don’t know who that is,” Lyles said.

This statement left many fans stunned, considering Jokic’s status as a two-time NBA MVP and one of the league’s most recognizable figures. Fans remained quick to cook him in the comment box.

While it’s unclear whether Lyles was genuinely unaware of Jokic or if he was just trying to stir up some controversy, his comment quickly made waves. The fact that Lyles has had issues with NBA stars in the past only made this latest remark more eyebrow-raising for fans.

Noah Lyles’ most notable beef with the NBA stars started in 2023. Lyles stirred controversy in an August 2023 press conference at the end of the World Championships. The USA star made headlines for questioning the legitimacy of the NBA champions calling themselves “world champions.”

“You know the thing that hurts me the most is that I have to watch the NBA Finals and they have ‘world champion’ on their head. World champion of what? The United States? Don’t get me wrong, I love the U.S. at times, but that ain’t the world,” Lyles said.

The beef garnered attention this Paris Olympics after he complained about the Adidas shoe offer while slamming Edwards. He again stirred controversy by referring to Edwards as an Olympic champion rather than a world champion.
